REPORTS TO:     School Administrator

PURPOSE:  In keeping with Timothy’s vision of Transforming Lives through Christ in the Blue Springs region, this position will support Timothy’s mission to Gather, Grow, Give, and Go at Timothy Lutheran Church and School.

QUALIFICATIONS: 

• Enjoy associating with and teaching children between the ages of 3 & 5 and their families
• Knowledgeable about growth and development of preschool child
• Possess self-reliance and strong problem-solving skills
• Be sensitive to the needs of others and care about the feelings of others

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Maintain direct daily contact with the students and their families
• Plan and facilitate daily routine and activities for the students
• Assess each student’s development and communicate to the family
• Plan activities to enhance development of each student and communicate to the family
• Represent Timothy Lutheran School ministry through a Christian lifestyle
• Maintain respect for confidentiality of each student
• Adhere to goals and objectives of Timothy Lutheran Church and School
• Reflect and commit to the school’s Mission and Philosophy, Statement of Faith, and overall well-being of Timothy Lutheran Church and School
• Be a member in good standing at Timothy Lutheran Church or another Christ-centered church (John 14:6) with teachers who have salvation by the grace of God alone (Ephesians 2:8-10)
• Present pleasant, friendly, and open mannerisms, relating well to both students and adults
• Exhibit tact, courtesy, and respect for others at all times
• Communicate effectively as a team player with staff, students, and their families
• Demonstrate strong organizational skills through initiating and completing necessary tasks
• Practice neat and clean patterns of hygiene and dress
